Aronia is a bush that can reach up to 2-2.5 meters height, and it comes in Europe in the beginning of the XVIII century from North America, and in Bulgaria it comes in the 70's of XX century.
It grows in the mountain or half-mountain regions, but still on a little areas of earth. It can survive low temperatures and foes, and the only thing that it needs is soil humidity and sunshine, and that unpretentious, beautiful and with many healing characteristics plant, is well welcomed here.
The fruit of Aronia is characterized with variety of chemical structure and many vitamins and minerals, which puts this kind of plant in the list of especially valuable medical plants. The fruit contains sugar - mainly fructose and glucose, which makes it appropriate for diabetes. Proteins are represented by a big variety of amino acids.
The most valuable in the structure of the aronia fruit are the irreplaceable compounds of the so called vitamin P. There is no other plant with such a record containing of P active substances. It is unique because it contains flavonols, catechins and antocyanides. Comparison between grape fruit and grapes (the most clinically tested for P-substances fruits) with aronia shows that the aronia contains 5 times more of these substances. There is no artificial substitute for the flavonols, catechins and antocyanides.
From the macro elements the aronia contains potassium, calcium, phosphor, magnesium, iron and others, and from the microelements - a record amount of iodine, manganese, molybdenum. An extra valuable characteristic of the aronia is the high containing of all important vitamins, which is straightening their biological effect.
